Let's face it ...

... programs cost money. Innovative technological programs can be cost prohibitive, even though they offer such a wonderful opportunity for the students to learn practical skills in an interesting way. Any shift in technology can have quite an effect on a program such as ours. One of the fun ways the students have found to combine their projects with the community is to have businesses sponsor them. The sponsorship covers things like special materials to make their car lighter, or maybe more technical devices so that they may be able to better track their battery usage during a race.

The students really enjoy placing sponsor logos or emails on their cars. It is a fun way for the teams to take pride in their projects. In addition, any extra exposure, such as pictures on websites or social networks will provide a greater audience for the sponsors. Our parents are active, and your business has potential to reach dozens, if not hundreds of new, local, potential customers.

Thanks for your interest in the Electrathon racing project. The students do a wonderful job of taking their studies seriously in this class. They are learning teamwork, industrial applications, electronics, physics and materials handling, among other skills. Without help, this great program may disappear. Please don't let this happen! Your generosity may be the reason a Willamette High School student is able to receive a scholarship, or becomes a pioneer in clean energy.
